LIH Spotlight: Montana Bride by Christmas

This week I’m shining the spotlight on
Montana Bride by Christmas, an October release
from Love Inspired Historical author Linda Ford.

Wanted: Convenient Wife

When preacher Hugh Arness advertises for a marriage of convenience, the single father’s not expecting Annie Marshall to apply. She’s too vivacious—and far too pretty. Yet Annie connects with his withdrawn young son, Evan, and he agrees to a trial period—which her grandfather will chaperone—until Christmas. By then he’ll have found a candidate who doesn’t make him long for more than he feels worthy of…

Security and her own home…Annie wants both, without the heartache love brings. Soon she’s earning little Evan’s trust, eager to show his papa that their partnership can work. She knows that Hugh needs tenderness, too. And maybe this Christmas could mark the end of their practical arrangement…and the start of a true union and real family.

Christmas Stories Are Coming!

Three Love Inspired Historical Christmas stories have already arrived in the homes of those of us who are members of the Harlequin® Reader Service program. I know because I’ve already received the October books, which are ready for my giveaways this month.

The October LIHs will begin showing up on the shelves around the middle of that month. Some readers will be eager to grab them, since Christmas stories are their favorites. Others might roll their eyes and say it’s too early.

I’m normally not all that eager to see Christmas stories show up early, but since my November release, Their Mistletoe Matchmakers, will be my first full-length Christmas story as well as my last book, I’m getting excited.

💜💜💜

Question for You

What is your reaction to seeing the first
of the Christmas books hit the shelves?
Will you shout with glee, grab those you’re interested in
and start reading right then; buy the books you want but
save them for later; or roll your eyes and walk on by?

This week I’m shining the spotlight on
Montana Cowboy’s Baby, a July release from
Love Inspired Historical author Linda Ford.

Learn more about the story below, and then scroll

Stand-in Daddy

Conner Marshall knows the baby on the doorstep isn’t his—despite what the note says—but little Ellie needs a protector…and urgent medical care. Turning to the doctor’s daughter and capable assistant, Kate Baker, for help, he keeps the truth to himself. Why should he care if Kate believes the worst of him? The wary rancher can’t afford feelings for a woman who’ll soon be moving east for medical school.

A promise to her dying grandmother decided Kate’s future. She’ll become a doctor and forgo a family of her own. Now, tending to Ellie at the Marshall ranch, she sees just what she’s sacrificing, especially when Ellie’s mother returns. But the littlest matchmakers can sometimes make the biggest dreams come true…

The Joy of Reading

One of the things I’ve been looking forward to having more time for now that I’m winding down my writing career is reading. I spent the day in our backyard camped in our fancy new gravity lounge chair doing just that. The temperature was perfect, there was a light breeze and I had one of our cats for company. Talk about relaxing! I was in my element.

Questions for You

LIH Spotlight: The Rancher’s Surprise Triplets

This week I’m shining the spotlight on
The Rancher’s Surprise Triplets by Linda Ford,
an April release from Love Inspired Historical,
one of the Lone Star Cowboy League stories.

Learn more about the story below, and then scroll
down to enter the giveaway for a print copy.

Three Little Matchmakers

Rancher Bo Stillwater has no plans of becoming a husband or a father…but he can’t turn away from the three babies he finds at the county fair. After leaving the abandoned triplets in the care of the doctor’s daughter, Louisa Clark, his duty should be done. So why can’t he seem to stay away from the babies and their pretty caregiver?

Watching the town’s most eligible bachelor with the little trio reawakens Louisa’s unmet dreams. She’s found satisfaction in spinsterhood and caring for others, convinced that motherhood passed her by. Do she and Bo only work so well together for the children’s sakes…or could they both find courage to make this sweet temporary arrangement something truly lasting?

Travels

I’m a homebody and do much of my traveling by opening the pages of a book, but every now and then I leave the comfort of my cozy home and visit other places. Our daughter spent three years in Europe working as an English-language teaching assistant, one in France and two in Austria. While she was there, my husband and I made the trip to see her.

Carl and I boarded a plane in September 2015 bound for Vienna, Austria, where our daughter eagerly awaited our arrival. We hadn’t seen her in over a year, which was the longest time we’d been apart. She had fun showing us around her home-away-from-home. We spent several days in Vienna.

We traveled from Vienna, Austria to Linz, where Adriana lived, which is on the Danube. This picture of Adriana and me was taken in Linz’s city square. While we were in Linz, Adriana’s friend and Bible Study leader gave us a tour of his beautiful city.

David is in California for a conference now. Before he headed for San Francisco, my husband and I were privileged to host him and give him a taste of what the Golden State has to offer. The picture was taken at the Wells Fargo Museum in Old Sacramento. I love that we were able to get to know David better and return the hospitality he showed us.
