A Practical Engagement

Clare Walsh isn’t too keen on marrying, but it’s the only way for her to keep her family home…and custody of her two younger brothers. So when rancher Noah Livingstone offers a union in name only, Clare reluctantly agrees. Accepting Noah’s strictly practical proposal has an unexpected catch, though—she’s actually falling for him.

Though Noah is drawn to vibrant, independent Clare, he knows romantic feelings will only complicate their marriage of convenience. But when secrets from his past threaten Noah’s fragile new family, he must make a difficult choice. Will Noah risk all his dreams to secure a real future with Clare?

High School Reunion

I just attended my 40th high school reunion. (Yes, I’m that old. 🙂) This was the first reunion I’ve been to, and I had a great time.

The best part of the reunion was seeing some of the special friends who experienced my angst-filled teen years with me. We reminisced, laughed, caught up on each others’ lives and laughed some more while  listening to hits from the 70s playing in the background.

Thanks to Facebook, I’ll be able to keep in touch with my high school friends. We’re already talking about the next reunion.

Questions for You

Have you attended any of your high school reunions?

Look-Alike Lawman

Former lawman Zane Robinson never thought he’d wear a badge again—but to locate his missing twin brother, Zane’s taking on his identity as sheriff of Proud Bend, Colorado. The cases could be connected, so Zane reluctantly agrees to team up with the feisty beauty.

Rachel can’t afford to be seen getting too close to Zane—it could impact her ministry for misguided young women. But as the investigation continues, she’s hopelessly drawn to the gruff yet honorable lawman. Though trust doesn’t come easily to Rachel or Zane, in searching for the missing will they risk losing their hearts?

Strawberry Season

Spring comes early in the fertile valley of California, which means we’re already seeing great deals on luscious red strawberries in our supermarkets. I brought home a big box today.

On the way out of the store, a gentleman told my husband about a vinegar and water rinse that is supposed to prolong the life of the berries. I took his advice, dunked the beauties and took of picture of them sunning themselves afterward.

I don’t know if the man’s tip will pay off or not, due to the rate at which I’m eating the strawberries. I prefer them at the peak of their ripeness, when I sink my teeth into them and savor their natural sweetness. Yum!

Question for You

What is your favorite way to eat strawberries?

The Nanny Solution

From Heiress to Nanny

When heiress Victoria Templeton learns her fortune is gone, she has to move to the Colorado frontier to live with her uncle. But with no money to pay for the trip, she must accept a position as a traveling nanny for a widowed rancher. And, much to the chagrin of the man entrusting his children to her care, she soon finds herself in over her head.

Mitch MacLeod lives for two things: his ranch and his children. And pampered Victoria isn’t qualified to help with either. But the former socialite has more grit—and determination—than he first thinks. If her uncle has his way, though, Mitch will soon lose his ranch—and any hope of a future with Victoria.

Fun Question for Barbara…

I read in your bio that you enjoy traveling. Which places that you’ve visited have had the greatest impact on you? Which new places are you eager to explore?

Barbara says, “The place that has had the greatest impact on me is The Holy Land. Truly, it’s a fascinating, spiritual place. I loved walking in the footsteps of Jesus and seeing places I’d only read about. I would return in a heartbeat.

As for a new place to explore, I think that today, (and it may change) I would love to visit every corner of the UK, from the highlands to the north all the way to Cornwall. I wold especially like to visit the out of the way, unique spots no one talks about. That’s real exploring!”

Your Turn…

Which places that you’ve visited have had the greatest impact on you?
