Book Club Information

Author Visit

If your book club is planning to read A Bride Opens Shop in El Dorado, California, I’d like to make you an offer. Thanks to modern technology, I can visit your group via Skype. We could have a great time talking about the book, about romance, and about life in California during the Victorian era. If your group meets in California’s Gold Country, I might even be able to join you.

If you’d be interested in having me visit your book club, send me an email at keligwyn (at) keligwyn.com.

Discussion Questions

My publisher asked me to provide some discussion questions, which they included in the back of the book. These would serve as a great way to explore some of the topics and themes included in the story.

Trivia Game

As a fun way to see how much your book club members remember about the story, I’ve included a quiz. You can click the links to the PDFs below and print out the quiz and answers if you’d like.

Answers to A Bride Opens Shop Trivia Questions

Offering a prize for the winner could be fun. Here are a few items from the story that would work: a package of violet seeds, a package of rose-scented potpourri, a bag of lemon drops, a few peppermint sticks, a CD of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.
