Romance & Fruit

Some fruits shout romance, whereas others don’t.

To me strawberries are romantic. Peaches, too.

But prickly pears? Nope. It’s not just the name. I don’t like pears. Period.

Grapes are Gwynly’s favorite. He munches them all summer long. I love to snitch a few from his bowl. I could get some from the fridge anytime I want, but it’s so much more fun taking some of his and seeing one of his Gwyn grins.

What fruits do you think are the most romantic?

  • Hi Keli,
I agree that strawberries –chocolate covered can be very romantic–not sure what other fruit would be–hmmm–grapes I love too.

  • Definitely strawberries and I think cherries too! Although not the ones with the actual pit in them. πŸ™‚ I usually steal from just about everything my husband munches on! πŸ™‚

  • I love strawberries! When I think of grapes as romantic, I think of a man in Ancient Greece holding a cluster of grapes over a royal woman lying on a sofa… πŸ™‚ Ha!

  • Strawberries, especially when dipped in chocolate! Yum!!

  • Erica Vetsch says:

Stay me with flagons, comfort me with apples, for I am sick of love…Song of Solomon 2:5 πŸ˜€

  • Strawberries dipped in white or milk chocolate. Mmmmmmmmmmm.
Or maybe just fresh picked strawberries.

  • Keli … how delightful and sweet πŸ™‚ Yes, the moment I saw the picture of the strawberries I though … chocolate … one of the most popular items to buy for Valentine’s Day. Grapes? Ah, to drop the little treats into an open mouth … to suspend them above his head and pop them off the vine … then eat it and watch him squirm with anticipation πŸ™‚ Oh my !!

You come up with fun questions, Keli … and I love how we always get a glimpse of your life, too.
    Romantic fruits?
Chocolate covered strawberries — like others said … and a nice bowl of grapes … or sliced peaches … all those work for me … Anything shared with my husband.

I think cherries are very romantic, for most of them grow in pairs. Thus, you can share them with your loved one πŸ™‚

And apples of cause, holy fruits in many cultures, especially for the Celtic people πŸ™‚

  • Yum, now I’m hungry! I love fruit! πŸ™‚ I think raspberries are kind of romantic, but that’s probably because it’s a popular fruit in our home and my husband and I often share a bowl of them.

  • Melissa Tagg says:

Ooh, I’ve never thought of romantic fruit…but definitely chocolate-covered strawberries. First thing that came to my mind, for sure. πŸ™‚

And I love any kind of berries–blueberry, raspberry, blackberry, cherries. πŸ™‚

  • I don’t like strawberries but I do associate them with romance. Cherries too! Mmmmm.
