Favorite Christian Fiction Book Reviewers

Book reviews. Readers rely on them when choosing which books to buy.

Book reviewers. Writers treasure them for taking time to share their thoughts.

In my post, The 3 Most Effective Book Review Locations, I published the results of a poll I conducted. Eighty-four percent of those who responded use book reviews some or all of the time when making their book buying decisions.

No one found it surprising that the top three places readers go to check out reviews are Amazon, Goodreads, and personal blogs.

It’s pretty much a given for an author to ask influencers and reviewers to post their reviews on Amazon and Goodreads (if they are members), but how does one know where to find reputable reviewers who post helpful, honest reviews on their blogs?

They ask their friends, which is why I’m asking you.

I’ve long been a reader of the three blogs spotlighted in the graphics on this post (each image is a clickable link). I have come to trust Rel, Renee, and Casey to provide reviews I can rely on, but there are other reviewers of Christian fiction out there I’ve yet to discover.

Who are your favorite Christian fiction book reviewers?

I would appreciate it if you would take a minute to leave a comment and include the name of the sites you visit when looking for reviews–as well as the bloggers’ names and URLs, if you have them handy.

I’ll compile the information and add a new page to the blog where you can view the list.

I have a treat for you. On Monday, March 5, I’ll publish my first Meet the Reviewers post. My scheduled guest is well-respected reviewer Rel Mollet of Relz Reviewz. Don’t miss it!

  • Neat idea for a post. I actually don’t have any reviewers I go to regularly, though now I’m going to check these three out! Thanks for the links. Can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with.

Keli ~ thank you for the honour of featuring my blog on your site! I’m in fabulous company, too ~ Renee and Casey write insightful reviews and are gorgeous girls 🙂 I’m really looking forward to coming back next week to answer your fun questions.

Lindsay ~ I hope you find something to enjoy when you visit my blog.

    Blessings 🙂

I love Casey’s reviews!! I need to check out the other two, as well. I can literally spend hours reading Amazon reviews. It gives such a taste of what people are looking for in books. Though, I tend to ignore the one-stars (’cause half of them are people complaining they didn’t know what they were getting when they downloaded it on their Kindle)…:)

  • I read these reviews! And I also love Edgy Inspirational fiction. Serena Chase and Joy Tamsin. Love, Love, Love their reviews!

  • You named my top three too! 🙂

  • Renee C. says:

Wow! Keli this is an awesome idea and I’m not just sayin’ that because you’re featuring me. 😉 Even though I write reviews I still visit a good number of blogs to read what others have to say so I can figure out whose books I need to be reading. I have to say that Rel and Casey are definitely at the top of my list as well as Joy and Serena’s blog that Jessica mentioned. Renee @ Doorkeeper, Amber @ Seasons of Humility, Ruth @ Booktalk and More, Christy @ Southern Sassy Things, and Bluerose’s Heart are pretty darn informative too, not to mention super friendly! I can’t wait to read all the interviews you have lined up. 🙂

    XOXO~ Renee C.

I go to Amazon and Goodreads, but you’ve already listed those. I look forward to hearing about other sites!

  • Lisa JordanL says:

My Book Therapy has been featuring Featured Fiction Fridays that I’ve been reading on their blog. Casey’s reviews are great too. I love Rel’s Reviews too. LitFuse Publicity & Christian Fiction Blog Alliance do blog tours for authors so I’ve found some great reviewers through their blog tours. A sister to the Novel Rocket site–Novel Reviews–is another great place to check out book reviews. I do check Amazon and Goodreads, but a lot of times I go by my own favorite authors or word of mouth reviews.

  • Jill Kemerer says:

Diane Estrella reviews a lot of Christian fiction, but I have to admit I don’t read many blog review sites. Thanks for the links–I’m going to check them out now!

  • I’m not very familiar with reviewers’ sites either, other than Casey’s of course. 🙂 I look forward to seeing what you discover!

  • Darlene says:

I write for kids so I like to read reviews on kid’s books. The best one is by a kid himself. That would be 10 year old Erik at http://thiskidreviewsbooks.com He did a review on my book too. He is very honest and entertaining. I now have great ideas of books to buy my grandchildren.

  • Hi Keli,
This is a great idea! I’ll share two reviewers that are just fantastic. You’ll love their sites too! Melanie of http://christianbookshelfreviews.blogspot.com/, and Trinity Rose of Trinity Rose’s Garden at http://thelifeandtimesofwanda.blogspot.com/.
A few months ago I was fortunate to win a book by Dana Lynn Smith titled How to Get Your Book Reviewed. Oh, my, what an amazing and helpful book! I would highly recommend it to anyone who is seeking to publish.
This post is great for learning of other reviewers. I work with Christian suspense author, D.I. Telbat. We’ve gotten several reviews on Amazon. but I now need to get reviews on the B&N site. I look forward to your new reviewer page and the Mar 5th post! Thank you!

  • hmm….i don’t know of any off hand, simply because i don’t read reviews on blogs very much. not helpful, huh? what i love best are blogs where there is an excerpt. i can tell right away if i’m going to like the writer’s style that way. (to me, this is easier than “buying” a sample on kindle or ibooks). but i’m looking forward to your list!

  • Anne Payne says:

Since I review, I try not to read reviews pertaining to the current book I’m reading. I only read the ones that I want to enter a contest for 🙂
There’s so many good reviewers/blogs out there to find out about Christian Fiction, though. I visit the ones listed above but I also love the reviews and conversations that take place with Carrie Pagels and Diana Flowers @ Overcoming Through Time- with God’s Help (http://cfpagels.blogspot.com).

  • Great idea. I’ll be interested in the list. I haven’t explored GoodReads yet. I don’t know if that makes me appear to be a slacker. I just don’t want to add anything yet. I know it’s there and should be when I’m ready.

  • Sherrinda says:

Hi Keli! I like…and trust…Casey and her reviews. She is amazing in the amount of books she gets read and reviewed. I also like to go to Goodreads. Lots of reviews given there.
