LIH Spotlight: Montana Cowboy’s Baby

This week I’m shining the spotlight on
Montana Cowboy’s Baby, a July release from
Love Inspired Historical author Linda Ford.

Learn more about the story below, and then scroll
down to enter the giveaway for a print copy.

Stand-in Daddy

Conner Marshall knows the baby on the doorstep isn’t his—despite what the note says—but little Ellie needs a protector…and urgent medical care. Turning to the doctor’s daughter and capable assistant, Kate Baker, for help, he keeps the truth to himself. Why should he care if Kate believes the worst of him? The wary rancher can’t afford feelings for a woman who’ll soon be moving east for medical school.

A promise to her dying grandmother decided Kate’s future. She’ll become a doctor and forgo a family of her own. Now, tending to Ellie at the Marshall ranch, she sees just what she’s sacrificing, especially when Ellie’s mother returns. But the littlest matchmakers can sometimes make the biggest dreams come true…

The Joy of Reading

One of the things I’ve been looking forward to having more time for now that I’m winding down my writing career is reading. I spent the day in our backyard camped in our fancy new gravity lounge chair doing just that. The temperature was perfect, there was a light breeze and I had one of our cats for company. Talk about relaxing! I was in my element.

    • Keli Gwyn says:

Thanks for your comment, Martha. If you’ll answer one of the questions above, you’ll be entered in the drawing for a copy of Linda’s story.

  • Lynne M Feuerstein says:

I would say my dream place to curl up and read would be a room with a window seat where you have a beautiful view to look out on. Thanks for the chance to win another book to curl up with!

  • Robin in NC says:

Can’t ever remember having the pleasure of being able to read all day long, but I do enjoy sitting out under the gazebo on the back deck & reading whenever I get a chance.

  • There used to be a time that I could read all day. Now that I can read all day I find myself doing other things. I usually only read at night before bed now. So, my favorite place to read is in bed 🙂

    • Keli Gwyn says:

Julie, I used to love reading in bed, too, but when this night owl married a morning person, that changed. Now I do most of my reading in the tub while enjoying a nice hot bath at the end of the day.

  • Lisa Rumsey says:

I spent last Saturday reading all day on my sofa in my living room this is the answer to the question where did Last read books all day long It was an enjoyable day reading my beloved books

  • Lisa Rumsey says:

If I could curl up anywhere and read a Book anywhere it would be In my bed with all my favorite books awesome I love it I love it I love it

  • I love reading on the beach!! I only read all day if I am sick. LOL

    • Keli Gwyn says:

Darlene, the beach sounds like a restful place to read. I’d need a comfy beach chair, a large beach umbrella and a cooler fool of treats, though. 🙂

  • Becky Smith says:

My favorite place to read is really anywhere. I usually move several times, and even often walk while I read. When I have a bad day, I just read all day (and nap). When an author has a new book that I have been waiting for, if I can, I read all day. I probably read most in bed, because my hubby goes to bed early so he can wake up early for work.

    • Keli Gwyn says:

Becky, it’s nice to have so many fun places to read. Like you, I’ve taught myself to read while I’m walking our local hiking trail. The trail is paved, and there’s no vehicle traffic, so it works quite well.

  • If I could curl up anywhere to read… I think it would either be a cabin deep in the woods of Minnesota or on the a picnic blanket somewhere on the Prince Edward Island! That place looks beautiful!

My normal place I go to to read is curled up on the couch on my Mom’s gazebo!

    • Keli Gwyn says:

Kalan, a cabin in the woods or somewhere on PEI would be great places to read. Until you can manage those, I think reading in your mom’s gazebo sounds like fun.

  • Jane says:

I read sitting on the sofa or in bed. My favorite place to read would be a window seat or a hammock. Sometimes things don’t get done because it is a really good book and I don’t want to put it down. All day reading happens a couple of times a month when my bother is working, no TV or other distractions on those days.

    • Keli Gwyn says:

Jane, a window seat or hammock sounds like relaxing places to read. I’m glad you get to enjoy reading days regularly. I know how much you love your books. 🙂

  • jcp says:

in May when I was bedrest after a minor surgery.

  • Marilyn R says:

I haven’t had a whole day to read lately. But I do enjoy reading outside with a gentle breeze in the summer. I read every day–some times it’s only my devotionals and Bible but love spending an evening reading after work to relax. God bless.

Montana Cowboy’s Baby draws me in with the cover. There’s something special about cowboys and babies.

    • Keli Gwyn says:

Marilyn, reading can be such a good way to relax, can’t it? I like that you make time for reading each day. Like you, I read my devotionals and Bible every day. What a difference that makes.

  • Trixi says:

Just recently I read for several days in a row to get caught up with my review books! It probably took me a good two weeks (no kidding) to accomplish my goal. I usually read sitting on my sofa, but I also have a small recliner in my office that I utilize as well. And of course, I read in bed before turning out the light. I’d love to have a hammock or a porch swing to use in summer time to curl up in if I had my choice 🙂

Thanks for the LIH spotlight this week Keli & the giveaway chance!

    • Keli Gwyn says:

Trixi, I’m sure you had fun immersing yourself in all those stories. I’m glad you have some comfy reading spots since you spent so much time in them recently.

  • Keli Gwyn says:

This week’s winner is Lisa R. Congratulations, Lisa! I’ll be in touch.
