Birthday Celebration Giveaway!

Surprise!

Since there are five Mondays in July and since this particular Monday just so happens to be my birthday, I’m celebrating with a special giveaway.

Instead of shining the spotlight on another of the August Love Inspired Historicals this week, I’m offering a dozen books from the three Love Inspired lines. How’s that for a gift that will give hours of reading pleasure or make great gifts for friends?

Please scroll down to find out how to enter the giveaway.

The regular spotlights and giveaways will return a week from today.

Birthday Fun

Carl and I have reached that point in life when we have all we want and then some. Instead of giving each other gifts, we’ve chosen to give experiences.

When Carl and Adriana asked me how I wanted to celebreate my special day last year, I said all I really wanted to do was spend time with them as we browsed in IKEA. My family granted my wish.

My guy and I first discovered this wonderful store when we lived in Germany early in our marriage, so going there now evokes memories of a very special time in our life.

After we spent a couple of hours looking at the many interesting itemsβ€”and putting a few in our cartβ€”we enjoyed a delicious lunch in the cafeteria.

Adri asked me recently what I wanted to do to celebrate my birthday this year. Since Carl and I had just returned from a two-week road trip, I wasn’t eager to spend a lot of time in the car, so a day trip was out.

Our gal, who knows her mother well, reminded me that I’d had a blast at IKEA last year and asked if I wanted to go again. Yup! I agreed without delay. More memories to be made.

Glad you got to get away for your birthday week. On my birthday, I like to sleep in. At my age that would be 6:30 and then have a special breakfast. My day usually consists of having lunch with friends and dinner with family.
My best bday was when I turned 60. It was in El Dorado hills hosted by a friend. Quite a few people came by to wish me Happy Brithday. However I had to return to Vegas to celebrate with my sons and their families which is the reason we moved there from California.

    • Keli Gwyn says:

Ginny, what fun that you got to celebrate with your friends from your former home as well as with your family in your new one. Must have made turning 60 extra special.

  • Irma says:

It’s so nice to see you had such a fun day πŸ™‚ I like to be pempered on mine. My family knows what to buy me (book, duh) and my close friends have learned that as well, lol. But the nices two gift that I receive every year are a drawing by my daughter and a late night masage by my hubby.

  • Lynne M Feuerstein says:

Happy Birthday,Keli! So glad you had a good day! Funny thing is my birthday is coming, too on this Friday the 21st. πŸ™‚ Some of the things I like to do on my birthday is: Having a little party with family or going out with them, enjoying my niece’s cheesecake πŸ™‚ ,and a new tradition of going to one of our local pizza places (Mona Lisa) for their great pepperoni pizza.:) Whatever I do it’s just fun to be with family. Oh,Btw thanks for the mega giveaway!!

  • Andrea Stephens says:

I’m so glad you had a great birthday Keli!

  • Tima Murrell says:

My most memorable birthday was when we made plans to go to a children’s museum with my two littles. My husband had been injured the day before, so he sat on a bench and I walked around the place with the kids. We had packed cupcakes and they were squashed so we ate the mess with spoons. Most memorable and one of the best.

    • Keli Gwyn says:

Tima, the challenging times in our lives can lead to some of the most special and memorable experiences. Sounds like that was true when it came to the birthday celebration you mentioned.

  • Denise Marshall says:

I love to spend it with family. Dinner a cake I do not have to bake. And coffee ice cream. And my husband has the same birthday so I want it special for him too.

  • Abigail Mitchell says:

I’d definitely love to spend my special days with Eli! Any day with him, is extra special! πŸ™‚ Our first Anniversary is next month along with his 26th birthday. πŸ™‚
I’d say that one of my most memorable birthdays was 2015, after we started dating, we had dinner at a lovely Italian restaurant, and he gave me a special necklace. Haha, I remember when he pulled out the box, I got nervous because I thought it was an engagement ring…nearly 4 months later he did give that to me. πŸ˜‰
    Happy Birthday!!!

    • Keli Gwyn says:

Abigail, I enjoyed the story of your birthday dinner and the gift that wasn’t what you’d thought it might be. I hope you have a wonderful time celebrating your first anniversary and Eli’s birthday next month.

  • Connie Lee says:

I like to spend my birthday just taking it easy, forgetting about housework, then go somewhere nice to eat dinner with my husband.

  • Jan Klopfenstein says:

I like to go out to dinner. Usually Mexican food. I have a friend that has a birthdsy 2 days after mine. We usually have a meal together. When we moved to Bonners it snowed and rained. I told Lee it was a good thing it wasn’t my 21st birthday or he would be in big trouble

  • Sabrina Templin says:

One of my most memorable birthdays was when my 7th birthday was celebrated at Burger King. I wanted one from McDonalds but Burger King was just as fun and a lot of my neighborhood friends came. It was a fun time!

  • Teresa Rose says:

my daughter takes me out to lunch and my husband takes me out for dinner. My boys send me flowers and/or candy. We usually keep it pretty simple. When I was growing up my mom would fix us our favorite supper on our birthday. My choice was always beans and wieners, Mac n cheese, and cornbread.

  • Carole Smith says:

I usually spend my birthday with my famiky. That is all I want or need!

  • Melanie Backus says:

We usually get together for a meal on birthdays in our family. My most memorable birthday was my fiftieth. Hoopla hoops and poodle skirts, burgers and bottle drinks…we had a ball!

  • Karen Case says:

I haven’t really ever celebrated my birthday as an all day kind of thing. At some point in the day, each one of my three daughters will come to visit me, usually a couple of them will bring gifts although I tell them not to, and sometimes one of them will bring me a chocolate or german chocolate cake. My son, who lives thousands of miles away, will call and visit and he and his wife usually sends a gift through the mail.

  • Evangeline says:

On my birthday I like to have a get-together with as many of my children and grandchildren as possible. They make my day! No presents needed, just their presence! 😊 You are a new author to me, and I would love to win these books. Thanks for the chance.

  • Barbara raymond says:

My most memorable Birthday was in 1989. My husband had his best job and went full out for my day. He got me an electric skillet, The Love Comes Softly series, a bun coffees pot and an electric meat slicer. I didn’t mind making my own Birthday cake. 😊

  • Melinda says:

I enjoyed spending my birthday with my Mom’s dad and mom. Grandpop had a birthday four days after mine so as I was the grandchild that lived closest to them , we spent the time together. As I got older, Mu parents and I would go and spend the weekend closest to our birthdays. Grandpop and I got to chose were we went to eat so we each got a special menu at a restaurant of our choosing. Grandmom cooked something special and made special things. Grandpop and I always agreed where to go for ice cream. Now ,Mom, dad and I go to a special place to eat and have dessert there so we do not eat more than the one piece. I like that it is quiet plus I usually get a chance to read a little on my birthday.

  • Susan P says:

Happy birthday! I hope you had a fabulous day. Mine is Saturday and it is a big one. I’m hoping to relax and play by the pool all day.

  • Linda Stringer says:

I like to spend my birthday with my family. I don’t work on my birthday. I haven’t for over 30 years! My most memorable birthday were spent with my late great-aunt, who shared my birthday. She lived in Indianapolis, IN and lunch out & shopping were the “thing”

    • Keli Gwyn says:

Linda, I like the idea of not working on your birthday. It’s neat that you have such special memories of birthdays you shared with your birthday buddy aunt.

  • jcp says:

  • Shash says:

I prefer a quiet, peaceful day, with as few responsibilities as possible. πŸ™‚ Then a nice dinner and time with the family.
