Love Inspired Historical author Regina Scott.

Wanted: Husband and Father

Stunned that his sister ordered him a mail-order bride, John Wallin insists he’s not the husband Dottie Tyrrell needs. The scholarly logger knows Dottie will make the perfect wife—for some other man. Yet he’s compelled to invite the lovely widow and her infant son to stay with his family…but only until she can find her own way.

Dreams of true love are for other women. Betrayed by her baby’s father, Dottie just wants a safe home for her precious child. But who could resist a man with John’s quiet strength? When her secret past brings danger to their door, they may yet find this mail-order mix-up to be the perfect mistake…

New School Year

School started today for many of the students in our area. The new year will begin Tuesday for my daughter, and it’s an exiting one. Adri will be doing her student teaching this fall and will earn her credential around the middle of the school year, although she’ll still be taking classes for her Master’s of Teaching program. I’m one proud mom!

When I was a kid, few things excited me as much as the first day of school. I welcomed the end of summer and eagerly awaited the return to the classroom.

One of the ways I prepared for the Big Day was to restock my school supplies. New binders, Pee Chee folders, paper, pencils and pens could put a huge smile on my face.

Thanks to my new Bin Babe position at church—filling the bins with supplies for our Sunday School teachers each week—that I first mentioned in my May 29 post, I had a wonderful excuse to visit the Back-to-School sales this year. I snagged some great deals. There’s nothing quite like the thrill of getting four glue sticks for 1¢!

Another reason I’ve been looking forward to the start of the new school year is that our break is over and my Bin Babe buddy, Carol, and I are back to work.

In preparation for the new year, I spent several days completing the organization of the craft supplies that I’d started in May. I’m delighted with the results.

That project was both fun and functional. Carol and I can quickly find the craft items we’re looking for, which has cut our prep time, leaving more time for me to assist our children’s director in other ways.
