Look-Alike Lawman

Former lawman Zane Robinson never thought he’d wear a badge again—but to locate his missing twin brother, Zane’s taking on his identity as sheriff of Proud Bend, Colorado. There he discovers heiress Rachel Smith conducting her own search for a mother and child who’ve also disappeared from the small town. The cases could be connected, so Zane reluctantly agrees to team up with the feisty beauty.

Rachel can’t afford to be seen getting too close to Zane—it could impact her ministry for misguided young women. But as the investigation continues, she’s hopelessly drawn to the gruff yet honorable lawman. Though trust doesn’t come easily to Rachel or Zane, in searching for the missing will they risk losing their hearts?

Strawberry Season

Spring comes early in the fertile valley of California, which means we’re already seeing great deals on luscious red strawberries in our supermarkets. I brought home a big box today.

On the way out of the store, a gentleman told my husband about a vinegar and water rinse that is supposed to prolong the life of the berries. I took his advice, dunked the beauties and took of picture of them sunning themselves afterward.

I don’t know if the man’s tip will pay off or not, due to the rate at which I’m eating the strawberries. I prefer them at the peak of their ripeness, when I sink my teeth into them and savor their natural sweetness. Yum!

Question for You

What is your favorite way to eat strawberries?

After two years, Tolley Northam returns home, transformed from a mischievous youth into an ambitious lawyer confident of winning his father’s approval at last. Laurie’s childhood friend is now a handsome, accomplished lawyer with undeniable charm. But she can’t accept Tolley’s proposal; she believes it’s just to earn his father’s praise. First he’ll have to prove to her that he wants her for a wife not because his father thinks she’s the perfect match, but because he does.

Three Little Matchmakers

Rancher Bo Stillwater has no plans of becoming a husband or a father…but he can’t turn away from the three babies he finds at the county fair. After leaving the abandoned triplets in the care of the doctor’s daughter, Louisa Clark, his duty should be done. So why can’t he seem to stay away from the babies and their pretty caregiver?

Watching the town’s most eligible bachelor with the little trio reawakens Louisa’s unmet dreams. She’s found satisfaction in spinsterhood and caring for others, convinced that motherhood passed her by. Do she and Bo only work so well together for the children’s sakes…or could they both find courage to make this sweet temporary arrangement something truly lasting?

Travels

I’m a homebody and do much of my traveling by opening the pages of a book, but every now and then I leave the comfort of my cozy home and visit other places. Our daughter spent three years in Europe working as an English-language teaching assistant, one in France and two in Austria. While she was there, my husband and I made the trip to see her.

Carl and I boarded a plane in September 2015 bound for Vienna, Austria, where our daughter eagerly awaited our arrival. We hadn’t seen her in over a year, which was the longest time we’d been apart. She had fun showing us around her home-away-from-home. We spent several days in Vienna.

We traveled from Vienna, Austria to Linz, where Adriana lived, which is on the Danube. This picture of Adriana and me was taken in Linz’s city square. While we were in Linz, Adriana’s friend and Bible Study leader gave us a tour of his beautiful city.

David is in California for a conference now. Before he headed for San Francisco, my husband and I were privileged to host him and give him a taste of what the Golden State has to offer. The picture was taken at the Wells Fargo Museum in Old Sacramento. I love that we were able to get to know David better and return the hospitality he showed us.
