Fifth Monday Bonus Giveaway!

My fourth Love Inspired Historical is coming in March!
Since this is the fifth week of the month and I’ve already
given away the four LIH’s releasing in February, I thought
it would be fun to give away Her Motherhood Wish.
To double the fun, I’m giving away two copies
to two different winners.

Building a Family

En route to the Double T Orphanage to work on its expansion, carpenter Chip Evans and Caroline Hunt discover two orphaned children—and become their caregivers. But Chip’s determined not to let himself get too attached to the children who just lost their widowed father…or to the lovely woman helping him care for them. Especially since Callie and the little ones just don’t fit into his detailed plans for the future.

Callie can’t help but fall in love with the orphans, and despite her better judgment, she’s falling for Chip, too. Her dreams of being a wife and mother were not quite like this. But Callie believes a plan bigger than Chip’s brought them all together…and now she just has to help him see it, too.

The Thrill of a New Title

This past week, I received the official title of my fifth Love Inspired Historical. Their Mistletoe Matchmakers, my first Christmas novel, will be released in November 2017.

I’m excited about the title because it fits the story so well. Three recently orphaned children take it upon themselves to get their paternal uncle and maternal aunt together. Guess how they go about it? 😉

Question for You

How much does the title of a book influence you?

Of all the Love Inspired Historical titles,
which 3 to 5 stand out as your favorites?
To help you out, I have a list of all the LIHs by author.

Deadline Pressure

Confession: this post went up a day late. I meant to get it up on time. I even had all but this portion of it formatted, but I plumb forgot. My apologies.

I’m racing to meet a deadline on my fifth LIH. I learned just last week that it will be a November 2017 release. I’ll be sending in cover ideas this week.

But guess what? Part of the story is still in my head waiting to be put on the page. It’s coming along nicely, but two things are taking place. One is that I’m spending most of my time with my nose to the screen, oblivious to what’s going on around me. The second, directly related to the first, is that despite my attempts to keep up with other things, I lose track of the days and forget what I was supposed to take care of. I appreciate your patience and understanding. I’m trying to cut myself slack, which isn’t easy.

One positive that came out of my delay is that I learned just today about a great sale on the Seven Brides for Seven Texans Romance Collection, which includes my first novella, “A Love Returned.” You can get an eBook copy for as little as $1.59, which is an 89% savings off the cover price. How’s that for a deal—and for looking on the bright side? 🙂

Question for You…

What are some ways you deal with the stressful times
in your life when your plate is overflowing?

The Bounty Hunter’s Baby
 by Erica Vetsch

Brought Together by a Baby

Bounty hunter Thomas Beaufort has no problem handling outlaws, but when he’s left with a criminal’s baby to care for, he’s in over his head. And the only person he can think of to ask for help is Esther Jensen, the woman whose heart he broke when he left town. But can he convince her to put aside the past until he tracks down the baby’s outlaw father?

Esther is ready to run Thomas off her Texas ranch—until she spies the abandoned newborn in his arms. Soon, working together to care for the precious babe stirs old hopes of a family. With trouble heading to their door, they could overcome it together—if she’ll entrust her wary heart to this sweet, second-chance family…

Website Update

This past week, my website got spruced up a bit. My awesome web designer, Jason Walker of Website Ministries, did a wonderful job deciphering my non-techie notes and turning my ideas into reality. As usual, he went above and beyond, working until midnight on Saturday to complete the changes. I can’t speak highly enough about him.

What changed? The banner, the background and the pictures in the navigation bar for starters. I was after a lighter, brighter look and am delighted with the results. A professional photographer friend of mine gifted me a photo shoot this past spring. I’m delighted to be using one of her great shots in the header.

There are a few more subtle changes. I removed the drop down menus and made clear what is in each room of my Victorian-style cyber home by adding sub-titles on the navigation buttons. Since I wanted to include some extra pages, I added links to them on the main pages. For example, if you visit the Library and look in the sidebar, you’ll find links to lists of all the Love Inspired Historicals by author or by series. If you stop by the Study, you’ll find links to pages with various writing and reviewing tips.

Updating a website, like remodeling a house, is a labor of love. I’m happy with the results. Despite all the planning and preparation, though, it’s possible some things get overlooked. If you notice anything amiss, such as links that don’t work or pages with the wrong designation, please feel free to let me know.

Questions for You…

What have you done to spruce up your place recently?
New towels in the bathroom? A new bedspread? Painted a room?

Have you ever undertaken a major renovation?
What was the process like? Were you pleased with the result?
