A Business Arrangement

When the railroad pushes to buy her land, orphaned Cameron Sims will do anything to keep the only home she and her sisters have ever known. Even if she must marry a stranger. But she’s determined her agreement with the mysterious, dashing man—who’s unlike anything the Kansas railroad town has ever seen—will remain simply business.

Duncan Murray doesn’t want a wife. He wants Sims Creek, a sanctuary that can help him forget a troubled childhood. But his reluctant, and captivating, bride-to-be is key to making his dreams a reality. And despite their business arrangement, Camy and Duncan might be signing on the dotted line for true love…

Changes to my blog format…

To make things quicker and easier for you, me and the featured author, I’m switching things up a bit.

  1. I’m no longer asking the authors of the featured books to answer a question, giving them more time to write the stories we love to read. Instead, I’ll be asking a fun question as a way to get to know you better. This change will take effect today.
  2. To make entering the giveaways less of a hassle for you, I’m no longer using Rafflecopter. All you will have to do to enter a giveaway is leave a comment on the post (one qualifying entry per person) with the answer to the question I ask. You’ll need to answer the question in order for your entry to be valid. If you’d still like to share the posts on Facebook or Twitter, that would be much appreciated, but doing so will no longer gain you additional entries. This change will take effect today.
  3. Because many of you have already received the current month’s books by the time I spotlight them on my blog, I’m going to start featuring the upcoming month’s books. I’ll need time to phase into this, so for the month of December, I’ll be giving away two books each week, one each to two different winners. The first two weeks, the winners will receive one of the four December titles. The second two weeks, the winners will receive one of the four January books. In January, I’ll be on track to feature February’s four books, one per week.

    Question for You…

For many of us, Thanksgiving has come and gone.
What was the best part of your holiday celebration?

For me, it was having our daughter will us for the first time in
three years. I was happy Adriana had the opportunity to live
in Europe and work as an English-language teaching assistant,
but I missed her, especially on holidays.

A Mother by Christmas

Nursing a broken heart, Amanda Porter had answered a frontier mail-order bride ad placed by Garrett Decker’s children—only to find the groom-to-be didn’t want a wife. The widowed bachelor she hoped to marry does need a housekeeper, though, and taking the job is Amanda’s only option. But his adorable children are determined she’ll be their mother by Christmas…

His wife’s betrayal and tragic death demolished Garrett’s life. Now he can’t even look at another woman, let alone marry Amanda, who resembles his first love. Even if she does make his house feel like a home, filling it again with laughter and his children’s smiles. But with his daughter convinced Amanda is the perfect mother, will Garrett realize she’s also his perfect match?

Fun Question for Christine…

I saw on your website that you enjoy hiking. If we were to encounter you on one of those outings, would you most likely be found walking in your neighborhood, traveling on a prepared trail in your town, hiking in the mountains, strolling on the beach or…?

Christine says: “Though you will most often find me walking in my neighborhood (as in every day), my favorite place to hike is in the mountains. The vistas take my breath away…or maybe it’s the altitude, lol. Seriously, I am in complete awe over God’s creation when in the mountains. The sheer size and beauty bring praises to my lips. It has been a couple years since I last hiked in the mountains, and answering this question makes me want to go there again soon.”

Your Turn…

How often do you go walking or hiking?

What are your favorite places to go when you want to take a hike?

Fun Question for Cheryl…

Since this is World Kindness Week, please tell us about an unexpected kindness someone has shown you recently.

Cheryl says: “A couple weeks ago my daughter, granddaughter and I were taking a flight home from LAX. Even though we arrived at the airport a couple of hours early, we got into a roped off line that went out a door. There were at least a hundred people waiting to get through the TSA scanners. We weren’t pressed for time, but we were tired.

A short lady in a uniform approached us, gestured for the last ten of us in line to join her and led us around a corner and down a hall to another door, where we stepped in and immediately had our IDs checked and went though the scanners as though we were VIPs. We thanked God on the spot and were grateful for His favor. We had plenty of time to eat and rest before our flight.”

Your Turn…

What’s a kindness you’ve been shown recently?
