Her Guardian Groom

Paid to accompany two orphaned siblings to their grandfather in Nebraska, Lily Winter is dismayed to discover the old man has gone missing. And when the children’s inheritance makes them a target, buying protection is Lily’s only option. Until a handsome gun-for-hire suggests another solution: marriage.

Undercover US Marshal Jake Elder can’t reveal his true identity without blowing his mission. Nor can he leave the town’s pretty new arrival unguarded. But while uncovering a plot against her charges is difficult and risky, falling for Lily is all too easy. Especially once their marriage in name only gives Jake a glimpse of how wonderful Christmas—and their future as a family—could be.

Fun Questions for Sherri…

I saw on Facebook that you adopted an adorable rescue dog last year. Rocket is so cute. What breed is he? What have been the highlights of having this furry addition in your family?

Sherri says: “We adopted an adorable little white dog named Rocket. We’re really not sure of his breed, although the veterinarian suspects some Pomeranian and maybe a little miniature poodle.

Rocket came into our family during a rough time. I had recently lost a dear friend, and our beloved Yorkie, Pepper, passed away unexpectedly. My husband says that Rocket and I ‘needed’ each other. We’ve been together a year now, and we’re inseparable. The family calls him my  ‘shadow.

Rocket was skittish and took a lot of love and patience when he first came to live with us, but I treasure the little darling. I highly recommend rescuing a dog! While I wish I could have seen Rocket when he was a puppy, but I couldn’t imagine our lives without him 🙂 He’s five pounds of pure love.”

Here’s a picture of the cute little fellow

Holiday Baby Blessings

Convinced that Allison Ashworth deserves better, Sheriff Shane Timmons has always tried to remain aloof around his childhood companion. How can he keep his distance when she and the children are quickly becoming the family he never dared to wish for?

As a girl, Allison was drawn to the wary yet handsome Shane, who never seemed to look her way. But in spending time with him and two sweet babies, she might yet find a chink in the confirmed bachelor’s armor. Every shared moment gives Allison hope that this Christmas, her dreams of motherhood—and a life with Shane—may finally be coming true.

Fun Questions for Karen…

I understand that one of your favorite things to do is host tea parties.
What do you consider the recipe for a perfect tea party?
Are there certain items you feel are must-haves?
Any chance we could have a peek at one of your tea party set-ups?

Karen says: “Hosting tea parties is a way for me to try and recreate the wonderful experiences I’ve had at tea rooms and share that with friends and family. My key piece of advice is to plan ahead–plan your guest list, menu and table settings. How many people can you comfortably fit? What type of food are you comfortable preparing? I happen to have china dishes I like to use, but there are nice plastic options, too. The main thing is that you and your guests have fun!

You can host on your own or with a friend. My mom and I like to share the responsibilities. I invite some of my friends, she invites hers. We wind up with a great mix of people. (She’s better at decorating, so she makes sure the table looks pretty.)

Back to the food–because that’s the best part!–we pattern our menu from our favorite tea rooms. Typically we serve a garden salad and/or soup, a variety of finger sandwiches (because not everyone is a fan of chicken salad), and an assortment of desserts. If not a lot is going on in our lives, we make things from scratch.  When we’re in a busy season, we choose quality store-bought products. You can serve cold or hot tea. We brew one or two favorite flavors and serve in pretty teapots.

This is one of my favorite subjects, so I’ll be happy to answer any questions you might have. Please leave them in the comments, and I’ll stop by to answer them in the week ahead.

The pictures below give you an idea what my tea parties look like. If you’d like to view more tea party pictures, you could visit my Facebook page.”

The Rancher’s Ready-Made Family

With a little girl to raise, widowed single father Dawson Marshall could sure use some help—he just didn’t expect it to come from city girl Isabelle Redfield. Dawson has encountered city women before. He even married one. What if his little girl grows attached to Isabelle and the woman tires of ranch life just like his late wife did?

For heiress Isabelle, the fledgling Western town of Bella Creek, Montana, offers something more meaningful than her wealth: a chance to forge a useful life. But if she wants the townsfolk to value her for more than her money, she has to keep her identity hidden. A difficult feat, especially when it comes to the cynical cowboy whose sweet daughter she cares for after school. But will hiding the truth ruin her chance of earning Dawson’s love?

Fun Question for Linda…

A recent post on your blog included a list of your lists, one of them being a Bucket List. A past item you removed from the list was visiting Paris. This year you checked off renting a cabin at a nearby lake and spending time with family. What Bucket List item(s) would you like to bring to life next?

Linda says: “I have to say I still have Paris on my list. I would love to visit again. And Hawaii. Hawaii is always a favorite place that bears repeating. If I could do whatever I wanted in life—and how many of us can?—I’d rent a place on one of the Hawaiian Islands and spend the winter. I’d laze in the sun and write.”

Your Turn…

Do you have a Bucket List? If so, what are some of the items on it?

If you won an all-expenses-paid trip to a famous city
of your choosing, which city would you pick?
