LIH Spotlight: A Rancher of Convenience

It’s September, and that means four new stories from
Love Inspired Historical will soon be on the shelves.

This week I’m shining the spotlight on
A Rancher of Convenience by Regina Scott.

A Rancher of Convenience

Fill-In Father…and Husband

Sweet mail-order bride Nancy Bennett can’t believe it when her husband is exposed as a cattle rustler—and killed. And when the banker holding the ranch’s mortgage questions whether she can run the ranch on her own, the pregnant widow has nowhere to turn. Until steady foreman Hank Snowden proposes marriage…

Racked with grief about his role in Lucas Bennett’s death, Hank resolves to do right by the man’s wife and child. So it’s natural for him to step in as Nancy’s newly minted husband. But the marriage of convenience may become more than a mere obligation…if only Hank and his bride can brave the first steps toward elusive true love.

Fun Question for Regina…

I saw on your website that you own a historical, fantasy and science fiction costume collection that take up the entire closet in your office. Which of your many costumes are your favorites, and why?

Regina says: “That’s like asking an author to name her favorite book! But, I’ll try. One of my favorites is my Oriental wedding robe. It’s lavender embossed silk, with flowers and insects all over the fabric and silver and gold work on the cuffs. Then there’s my pirate queen doublet, fuchsia satin embroidered with butterflies. Oh, wait, what about the turn-of-the-century wedding dress, cream satin with a sweetheart neckline and no less than 27 buttons up the back? Or my latest, a steampunk-inspired outfit that features a gray pinstripe tiered skirt with black ruffles, cutaway in front; a gentleman’s tailcoat; and a fascinator with brass gears on the brim. See! I told you it’s hard to play favorites. 🙂 ”

Your Turn…

Do you enjoy dressing up?

What costumes have you worn that you’ve enjoyed the most?
