LIH Spotlight: Counterfeit Courtship

It’s July, and that means four new stories from
Love Inspired Historical are on the shelves.

This week I’m shining the spotlight on
Counterfeit Courtship by Christina Miller.

Counterfeit Courtship

Second Chance Reunion

Returning home, Confederate hero Colonel Graham Talbot faces his toughest battle yet—avoiding the marriage-minded young ladies in town vying for his attentions. With a stepmother and orphaned niece to support, the penniless soldier has no intention of marrying. Neither does the woman he once loved, his next-door neighbor Ellie Anderson. But Ellie has a proposal of her own: a pretend courtship to keep their unwanted admirers at bay.

Ellie’s unpredictable childhood left her determined to safeguard her independence—and her plantation. Blaming herself for driving Graham away to war, she devises a plan to help them both. But when it goes awry, Ellie will face a choice: save her beloved property…or trust in a relationship that’s becoming undeniably real.

Fun Question for Christina…

In looking through your Facebook timeline, I noticed a number of posts about vintage TV shows. Which of those golden oldies are your favorites?

Christina says: “The Andy Griffith Show is my favorite. I watch it every day at lunchtime! I love it because Mayberry is a lot like my hometown and the characters are so much fun. Clean humor is hard to find on TV these days. Once while my husband and I were traveling through North Carolina, we visited Mount Airy, the town Mayberry is based on. I loved it!

Thanks, Keli, for having me on your blog!”

Your Turn…

There are many wonderful vintage TV shows. Which are your favorites?

The Nanny Solution

From Heiress to Nanny

When heiress Victoria Templeton learns her fortune is gone, she has to move to the Colorado frontier to live with her uncle. But with no money to pay for the trip, she must accept a position as a traveling nanny for a widowed rancher. And, much to the chagrin of the man entrusting his children to her care, she soon finds herself in over her head.

Mitch MacLeod lives for two things: his ranch and his children. And pampered Victoria isn’t qualified to help with either. But the former socialite has more grit—and determination—than he first thinks. If her uncle has his way, though, Mitch will soon lose his ranch—and any hope of a future with Victoria.

Fun Question for Barbara…

I read in your bio that you enjoy traveling. Which places that you’ve visited have had the greatest impact on you? Which new places are you eager to explore?

Barbara says, “The place that has had the greatest impact on me is The Holy Land. Truly, it’s a fascinating, spiritual place. I loved walking in the footsteps of Jesus and seeing places I’d only read about. I would return in a heartbeat.

As for a new place to explore, I think that today, (and it may change) I would love to visit every corner of the UK, from the highlands to the north all the way to Cornwall. I wold especially like to visit the out of the way, unique spots no one talks about. That’s real exploring!”
